Thanks, Xenia!

What was I doing 10 years ago?

Being a lazy high school student and a fast little swimmer on my swim team. I was 17, drove a blue little Chevy around, was a member of a group of four girls that for the most part stayed out of too much trouble, and I most likely had a hopeless crush on some boy. I liked going to my youth group, eating at Islands, getting my nails done, dying my hair for kicks, and going to the beach in my friend Jessie's old Mustang blasting some awful music that I would completely deny if you asked me about it.

Snacks I enjoy:

anything smothered in dark chocolate

vegetables and hummus

trail mix

salsa tortilla chips

pears

Things I would do if I were a billionaire:

Buy a bigger house, but not too big. An older one story four bedroom ranch style in Claremont with a sprawling yard. Also, a sweet new mini van that has those awesome sliding doors that open at the press of a button. Make my mom retire so she could come over and help organize me every other day. Buy a bunch of fancy all in one diapers. Oh and I'd do some good too, like get our church built, care for the poor, give to our favorite charities, hire a live-in nurse/housekeeper for my grandparents that are getting too old to be on their own. Give give give. Jason's a good giver too, he would never let me hoard it away. :)

Five places I have visited:

San Francisco

Las Vegas

The Grand Canyon

The Bahamas

Mexico (a few different cities)

Five jobs I have had:

hot dog on a stick girl...go ahead, laugh it up. it was my first gig.

life guard

swim instructor

receptionist

admin assistant for a few different places - church, college counseling center, a software consulting firm

Meme away, if you like!

I didn't know you were a swimmer! Awesome. Do the kids swim too?

And, hot dog on a stick girl, we all started somewhere. It paid the bills.

You're most welcome. :)

I wish my mom would have let me dye my hair... I could have gotten it out of my system at an early age. Now I'm curious, still.

oh no! hot dog on a stick...that's HILARIOUS!! Doesn't this time of year make you want to wake up early and hit the pool? I wasn't a very fast swimmer, but I loved it...so quiet and rhythmic. ahhhh.

mimi - no i don't swim much anymore. when i do get in the pool, i still do feel very much at home though. :) i plan to teach my hannha and a friend's little one to swim this summer. should be fun!

jenny - i think about that house way too often.

XK - go red. it'll be awesome.

katie h - thanks for the link. that soup looks great. in fact it inspired me to make a corn chowder last night. i used coconut milk to sub for the cream and it came out really great.

sara - i'm glad you find my hot doggin days hilarious. ;) about swimming. NO. I do NOT miss am work outs. They were grueling torture sessions. I miss the swim meets though. Mostly the relays. Those were so fun.

So excited to find another Orthodox (hope all goes well Saturday, by the way) Mom! I hopped over from Sevvi's blog.

Actually, if just occured to me to warn you that by Pascha night, you might feel so tired and weak and be weighed down with a sort of "post-baptism" lack of adrenelin, that it could be hard to make it through the PAscha service, standing the whole time, in the middle of the night, without breaking down. That's what I did. (smile)

Many people are much strong than I am, but hey... just thought I'd warn you. Nap Saturday afternoon if you can! Let someone else bake bread...

I should post our Kulich recipe. Hey - we should all post Pascha bread and treat recipes - a blog carnival!
