Our Joyous Pascha

Christ is Risen!

Wow, what a week. I feel like I should be way more tired than I am today. It must be that we are....

NEWLY ILLUMINED!!! We were baptized and chrismated on Holy Saturday. We all took Holy Communion and thus, are being sustained by the body and blood of our Lord. I wish I could write more reverently about it, but it's like, totally awesome. And that's all I can say.

Here are the kids in the morning. Hannah slept in her pretty Pascha dress. We like to get plenty of use out of our fancy clothes.

James after just a few hours of sleep.

Wishing you a beautiful Bright Week!

I'm so happy for you! I can tell you are glowing in excitement just from your post. Were the children baptized in as well, or do they just do adults? What an exciting thing to experience as a family!

Funny enough, as different as we are, we both celebrated that He has risen on the same day. :)

Hope to see you soon!

Christ is Risen! I hope your Bright Week is full of joy and rest. I was so sad to miss out on the services of holy week and Pascha this year, as it's only been a short time since our baby was born, but my husband and older kids got to go. And congratulations on your entrance into the Church. It's just the beginning of the journey!
Blessings,
Rebeca

Lauren, I've just found your lovely blog and just in time to echo Mimi in saying "Welcome Home..."
Glory to God for your Holy Baptism!

As Rebeca said, it's just the beginning of the journey. May our dear Saviour always save & keep you.

Is your patron saint St Laurence the Archdeacon by any chance?

My patron is after my middle name, Anne. So St. Anna, the mother of the Theotokos. :)

Thanks for all the kind comments!

Couldn't help but laugh out loud when I noticed your tag line about saying shhh and passing out cheerios. We've been Orthodox for 4 years and I've never once brought food into church. Until last week. The 4 year old I could handle until I add the 1 year old who wants to walk everywhere. The cheerios... slowly handed out one by one... are the only thing that made those long services bearable. My husband complained about the "buffet" but I knew what I had to do to save my sanity. We ended up leaving the baby asleep at home with non-orthodox grandparents for Saturday night.

Thanks for the laugh,
Monica
