Glorious Garlic!

Right now, I just finished an onion bagel with parmesan garlic spread paired with sun dried tomato sauce, and I can literally smell my own garlic breath. I love garlic. And I think it's pretty fantastic being married to someone who loves garlic too, so we can both have garlic breath together and not even bat an eye. Yesterday we visited Jason's dad, who is a superb cook and he made us grilled artichokes and we got to dip them in lemony garlic butter. MMMMM.

I really love to cook with garlic too. I put several cloves of it in my roast beef, which, I must say I make a mean roast. It sits all day in the crock pot with the onions and gets carmelized and you could spread it when it's time to eat. And my mom taught me how to make a very easy salad dressing with it. Just mix balsamic vinegar, olive oil, and minced garlic, a little salt. You could also use wine vinegars. Whatever.

Look at me, posting a food blog. Ha!

What's your favorite way to cook with garlic - or just to eat it?

Garlic is quite good (but then I'm half Italian or "garlic ear".... some racial slur, eh?). My roommates in college could always tell when I was cooking as soon as they walked in the door because the air was thick with GARLIC!

Do you live near Gilroy? Do you get the good stuff from The Garlic Capital of the World? :)

I must say, nothing compares to a good piece of buttery garlic bread. mmmm.

Yummy garlic! When my hubby and I were dating, he could smell me a mile away when I returned to school from a week at my parents house with all that Korean garlick-y goodness!

It is funny that you posted about this today because my whole house smells like garlic right now. I cooked a whole chicken in my crockpot with about 6 cloves of garlic. We love garlic here too. We always go to a particular Mediterranean restaurant that had the best garlic sauce. It is amazing!

I am Italian; so I was also raised with garlic in just about everything. Oh, and we have our priest and his family coming over tomorrow night and I've pre-made a lasagna and I am planning on having garlic bread to go with it. Yum! I can't wait!!

I'm a big fan of garlic in my Chinese food... I've had a bad experience with a garlic lately though! I bought a loaf of garlic bread and it had whole cloves of garlic in my bread... The garlic was slimy and the texture was terrible!

ooooh the garlic! we eat a TON.

one night I got up to go to the bathroom and was overwhelmed by the stench when I returned to the room. We must have been swaeting it out like crazy. Gross, I know.

Just borrowed a garlic cook book from the library last week...have yet to try any recipes.

I love garlic too... except when I have morning sickness and for a few months afterward. I'm starting to like it again, thankfully!
